Sherlock Holmes in Guy Ritchie 2009
Sherlock Holmes, directed by Guy Ritchie, has the ambition to make us relive the adventures of the famous detective in a more modern version.
Robert Downey Jr. is making Sherlock and Jude Law plays Dr. John Watson.
The story begins with the capture of Lord Blackwood, an adept of black magic and bloody satanic rituals. It is executed and pronounced dead by the faithful friend of the detective, the physician John Watson. But it looks back from the dead and Sherlock Holmes is hired to find him again.

Sherlock Holmes is a very different from other films and series observed in this film. He smokes, he does boxing and speaks very directly.
Far from the image of a gentleman that often English detective.
Yet the novels of Arthur Conan Doyle describes the rather in this way and many other adaptations have distorted the original story. For example the famous phrase "Elementary, my dear Watson" is not in this film has never been written in the original novels. Holmes was addicted to cocaine often to stimulate his mind, and Dr. Watson was not a little fat, although it was a former military doctor. Although very little distinguished the Sherlock of this version is much closer to the original character. ![]()

This is not enough to make a great film. I would have preferred more scenes where the detective shows his famous powers of deduction and understanding, rather than too many action scenes.
IMDb Average: 7.7 / 10. My rating: 7 / 10.
