Planet of the Apes, origins, critical
Planet of the Apes: The Origins (Rise of the Planet of the Apes) narrates as the name indicates the beginning of the reign of monkeys in the world. Although the original book does not take place on Earth, we remember that our planet back on the hero is greeted by a gorilla, suggesting that monkeys also dominated the Earth. (In the 1968 movie, the action takes place entirely on Earth, but thousands of years in the future.)
Will Rodman works in a laboratory and testing a treatment to overcome Alzheimer's disease in monkeys. Following a failure, all the monkeys are killed, except that Will adopt a baby and protects. This little monkey quickly shows extraordinary abilities, his IQ exceeding even that of humans in the same age.

To sum up my opinion: it is a pleasant surprise. I was expecting yet another film, using the rope to the book by French writer Pierre Boulle. Planet of the Apes: The Origins invent from scratch the transition between humans and apes the dominant species on the planet . Even if at the end of questions remain: how humans did they could not resist with all their weapons and their technology? Although monkeys are physically stronger, a nuclear warhead in the forest where they gathered would have solved the problem. ![]()
