Space Battleship Yamato, the ultimate hope in video

Space Battleship Yamato (the ultimate hope in France) is a Japanese film by Takashi Yamazaki. We can say that it simulates a real movie manga but with a lot of clichés but endearing side.

In the year 2199, Earth is attacked by aliens too powerful and radiation have made the earth uninhabitable. There will soon be no possible refuge for the human species. Replying to a message from an unknown, humans send a crew in their last battleship to try to find this providential help.

Asian films are not my favorite and it confirms this trend.

The special effects are impressive compared to the budget, but they will not leave you stuck so it became a common thing today. The story is slow and the film would have benefited from being shortened by a good half hour (2:15). The characters are very manga and if it can appeal to some, I think the majority of Western audiences find them too superficial and too cartoonish.

I'm rather annoyed but he welcomed the effort of this "space opera" un-American. Japanese comics fans will find probably more their account.
