Sucker Punch, Zack Snyder strikes again

I remember the first time I saw 300 in 2006. This was the first time that I appreciated all of Greek history. The narration in refined language (in the original and the translation québecoise), images in silhouette against a backdrop of drawing, the slow action scenes, a music breathless and angles of view breathtaking, this is what The charm of 300. That day I remember the name of Zack Snyder as the next James Cameron.

(Note that the French adaptation of 300 is zero. The narrative is made ​​to this, which gives as much weight as the comment of a nature documentary, "His roar is long and powerful," or that a dialogue suburban "we walk" instead of "we walked." Fortunately here is better.)

Approximately in the 1960s, a young girl whose mother has just died is accused by his stepfather of murdering his sister. Indeed, it sought to get rid of his two stepdaughters, his late wife had given them his inheritance. He then killed the youngest and manages to make the internet older in a mental asylum where he arranged with a nurse that the girl be lobotomized as soon as possible.
To support the daily lives of five days it has to go in establishing the young woman retreats into a dream world where asylum becomes a nightclub where the dancers are interned: Sweet Pea and her sister Rocket Blondie and Amber, it becomes Babydoll, a new recruit who dance dreaming of being a heroine.

When I saw Sucker Punch first, I thought exactly the same thing in this critical Pix-geeks : "Say Zack, you have not forgotten something?" ... the thing in question is the scenario. Unlike 300 and Watchmen (which I did not like, too slow), the story is not based on a comic book.

After this initial disappointment and again attracted by a poster of the film (really beautiful, I bought the poster 120x160cm), I have given a second chance in this film. Once one is aware of the lack of scenario, the focus is really what makes up this work: the graphics and music. It is a kind of long music video, with choreographed fights and special effects hardly believable! Besides the music soundtrack in MP3 ) is very well chosen.

Zack Snyder really knows how to give another dimension to the action scenes. And seeing young actresses instead of big burly fate of conventions (Emily Browning, Abbie Cornish, Jena Malone, Vanessa Hudgens, Jamie Chung).

He did not lack much for an 8 or 9. The day that Zack will find a good writer to work with him, we have to make a great teacher. A video must-have, especially if you are equipped with a large plasma and a good 5.1 sound!
