10 days of eco-citizens at Auchan

I'm sure you think that buying products "eco-citizen", that is designed to meet the best environment, it is too expensive.

From May 6 to 16, hypermarkets Auchan renewed for the third year of operation "eco-citizenship", with 90-130 products following stores "good for my planet and my budget."

The French are concerned about sustainable development and ecology. However, we do not really different. The eco-citizens are often perceived as expensive and occasional use, so we continue to buy according to our habits.

Auchan has the good sense to provide year-round economic and ecological products . The company is trying to improve every day the following:

• Eat well for a better life: Auchan has developed biological areas, reducing the amount of salt, sugar and fat of 597 products of its own brands.
• Better preserve nature: the choice of fish species present in the store, by cosmetics packaging with "eco-designed", Auchan is committed to 450 of its products carry environmental labels.
• Reduce packaging: from 2004 through the use of recycled materials and the minimization of packaging, food packaging 5000 tons were saved.
• Finally save energy and promote fair trade.

Apart from the energy side that I find too small (many supermarkets are lit with neon lights all day, then it would be possible to let in natural light), these commitments are really great.

I liked Auchan , unfortunately, where I live now there are none around. I did not know in particular the improvement of brand products and the reduction of packaging which are essentials for me.

For example, Auchan has removed the cardboard around the pots of his chocolate mousse. Carton in fact unnecessary, since home he survives only travel time back racing.

Auchan also offers LED bulbs, even more economical and durable than conventional energy saving light bulbs!

To highlight these efforts, the operation eco-citizen present a selection of these products for 10 days.

Depending on the size of your store up to 130 products will show you that ecology can also rhyme with economy . The goal is to introduce you to the eco-citizens for you to take the habit.

But what are these eco-citizens?

• Organic food products (meat, fish, cheeses, fruits and vegetables ...) but also environmentally friendly products for the maintenance of the kitchen,
• of organic cotton textiles in all price reduced
• equipment home to save energy, water and reduce bills,
• baby products in the range Nature Babycare, using natural products made from raw plant-based renewable
• natural products for your garden, to preserve the environment and save water.

In summary, the goal is to provide an environmental benefit from: better preserve nature, reduce packaging, save energy or water, fair trade.
