With Jake Gyllenhaal, Reese Witherspoon, Meryl Streep ... Rendition (Rendition) is an astonishing film in more ways than one. This is the story of a man Anwar arrested at an airport on his way home, then taken by plane to Cairo to be questioned (tortured) about a certain Rachid, a terrorist who would have called .

Anwar is a scientist, he has a pregnant American wife and a son. Egyptian by origin it is of course a good head Muslim terrorist. The officers who arrested him make his name disappear from the list of passengers, leaving his family without news. The hook of the film sums up the situation of his wife: "What if someone you love ... disappeared? ".

The film tells two stories intertwined, in fact, that of Anwar in his cell, and that of his "executioner" Abasi Fawal responsible for his interrogation. The latter is in search of her daughter left with her boyfriend.

Only at the end we learn that the two stories are actually ... Nan, I will not tell the end! : D

Interestingly, on Imdb Americans have more severe marks (20% of 1 / 10) in this film that openly criticizes the anti-terrorism methods put in place following the September 11, 2001.

The system of secret detention, known as "rendition", allows CIA agents to arrest people and lock them up suspects, without any judicial process. :-|

"The United States has" black sites, "secret prisons located in countries such as Egypt, Jordan and Pakistan, where torture is not prohibited. The disappeared reappear sometimes in official prisons, but most are never found. According to Amnesty International, several hundred people were involved in the detentions since September 11, 2001. A movie to watch despite some imperfections, the themes are not much depth but the subject is difficult. In short: not too hard image worry, too much idle time, a surprising ending, very good actors .
